Britt Hansen

EPUAP Trustee

Since 2006 I have worked as a Registered Nurse at University Centre for Wound healing at Odense University Hospital, Denmark.

My work involves basic wound care, and pressure ulcer prevention. The patient category is primarily patients with spinal cord injury. My responsibility involves prevention and treatment of pressure ulcer within this group of patients.

I have been the head-figure in implementing prevention of pressure ulcer in my department.

I educate other nurses in prevention, classification and treatment of pressure ulcers, both in my own department, but also around other department of Odense University Hospital. I also teach for the Danish Nursing council in prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.

In 2014-2015 I was involved in a development project to prevent complications of the incision after surgery with muscle flaps within patients with spinal cord injury, which I made a poster to WUWHS 2016.

In 2017 I have been a part of the translation of the EPUAP quick reference guideline into Danish.

Also in 2017 I have completed and passed the MasterClass of EPUAP in Ghent.

Currently I am studying Master in Clinical Science MSs in nursing, and I am graduating summer of 2019.
