Zusammenfassung der Empfehlungen
Die EPUAP empfiehlt als Mindestanforderung zur Beurteilung des Ernährungszustands
das regelmäßige Wiegen der Patienten, die regelmäßige
Beurteilung der Haut sowie die kontinuierliche Dokumentation der Nahrungs-
und Flüssigkeitsaufnahme. Zusätzliche Verfahren wie anthropometrische
Messungen und Labortests können ebenso durch-geführt werden,
obwohl sie eher als erweiterte Beurteilungsmethoden betrachtet werden
sollten. Ernährungsinterventionen sollten auf eine individuelle Verbesserung
der Aufnahme von Nahrung und Flüssigkeit abzielen – und zwar
insbesondere unter Berücksichtigung der Qualität des Nahrungsangebots
in Verbindung mit der Ausräumung körperlicher oder sozialer
Hemmnisse für die Nahrungsaufnahme. Wenn es nicht möglich ist,
die Nahrungs- und Flüssigkeitsaufnahme des Patienten zu erhöhen,
sollte eine Supplemen-tation erwogen werden.
