Industry has played an important role since the formation of the EPUAP, and the on-going success of the Annual EPUAP meetings is due in great part to the support of our corporate sponsors.
Corporate sponsors are entitled to a free exhibition space 3m x 3m at our Annual Meetings and two complimentary memberships for nominated persons from the company. Extra exhibition space is available for sponsors at a reduced charge. In addition to exhibiting at the Annual Meeting companies have the opportunity to run a Symposium or workshop. Being a sponsor entitles the company to have a link with our website at www.epuap.org and to have the company logo on the EPUAP website. It helps to stay up to date with the latest medical news and clinical research or to share their own company’s findings with the rest of the group. Sponsors receive information on a regular basis and can ask questions or give advice to colleagues based on their own experience. Important publications or new developments from any of our corporate sponsors will be shared quickly via our website. Sponsors also have the opportunity of meeting with the Executive committee of the EPUAP to give feedback and make suggestions for the way forward and for closer co-operation between the Society and the Sponsors.
Unrestricted educational grants recently made by Industry have made a major contribution to the production of the new Pressure Ulcer Prevention Guidelines in conjunction with NPUAP’s Treatment Guidelines and have helped to support the completion of the project with the new Guidelines being published in 2009. Clinical Practice Guidelines with levels of evidence can be purchased from the NPUAP (www.npuap.org).
Industry has also made a number of unrestricted educational grants for other specific projects which have enabled the EPUAP to complete several initiatives, such as the collection of pressure ulcer prevalence data across several European countries, the production of a specific clinical practice guideline on nutrition and pressure ulcers, and the publication of a textbook "Science and Practice of Pressure Ulcer Management" covering all aspects of pressure ulcer aetiology, prevention and management.
